9/9/2023 0 Comments Lakehouse genevaI know that I looked at the bar to see how many people were there and there was one seat open at the south end and one open further down on the north end and the rest was full. I asked what kind of wine you liked, you both replied sweet and I said that you should try the apple wine as it was just like biting into a real apple and I thought that it was a pleasant conversation. She also said that the bar was full at the moment, but people sitting there were almost done and she would be able to seat you shortly. I asked if you were here for dinner because the hostess had stepped away from the hostess stand and when you said that you were here for a wine tasting I explained that wine tastings ended at 5 and then the hostess come back and when you said that you were interested in wine she said that if you were looking to purchase a bottle, the bartender would be happy to give you a taste before purchasing it. I was the lady from the Inn that spoke to you ladies when you were standing at the door. I am truly shocked when I read your review….I am almost speechless. The trickle-down effect.Īs much as I would love to stay at the inn or sip wine on the lakeshore, I will resist, knowing that no one there could really care whether or not we made an appearance. I bring this up because it is not just the employees, it is also the management. I had to wait for them to finish their discussion, unrelated to my glass of wine in mid pour. Last time I was there, a supervisor started discussing an issue with an employee waiting on me at the outside bar. ![]() I think they should just leave bottles of wine and food on a counter and the customers can just help themselves. Even in the winter it is a nice place to visit.īut what is wrong with the service? Why does everyone that works there act like they are entitled to our business? There never seems to be any appreciation towards the customers. We've visited this location a number of times over the past couple years and we've always been impressed with the setting. We hope next time in the area you will consider visiting them for their award winning wines. Many wineries in the area are built for guest who want to only taste wine: Ferrantes, Debonne, or Laurello, and many many more in the area host traditional tastings. It's difficult for us to house a separate facility on our bustling property to taste wines. We do produce our own wines but we only produce small batch wines. ![]() We make our own wine but do not have a building that is designated as a winery. ![]() We host a locally sourced restaurant, a 13 room Inn, a spa, and a "winery". Our winery is very untraditional to our area and our property is complex. It's not our intention to communicate clearly with our guests and it seems we have not posted this closure in enough places so that it was discovered by you easily. We do have listed on our site that our wine tastings are closed to the public. We wanted to respect those who have decided to travel while following the social distancing suggestions put into place. Since COVID protocols and closures were put in place in 2020 we have decided to close our Great Room/Tasting Room to the public so that our guests who are staying in the Inn rooms don't feel crowded or overwhelmed. Hello and thank you for your review and our apologies on the late response.
